ENHANCE Project: Building Skills and Breaking Barriers for Women’s Empowerment
The ENHANCE project has officially kicked off with a powerful mission: to equip NGOs, educators, and community leaders with innovative non-formal education tools to foster the socio-economic empowerment of girls and young women.
Bringing together seven organizations from Europe (Cyprus, Italy, North Macedonia) and beyond (Jordan, Morocco, Egypt), ENHANCE is tackling gender inequality and discrimination through fresh training opportunities and community-based approaches. The goal is simple yet transformative: provide operators and leaders with the knowledge and tools they need to break down stereotypes and create lasting systemic change.
First Steps: Training in Turin
In May 2025, partners gathered in Turin, Italy, for the project’s first international training camp. Hosted by FRAMEWORK, this “Train the Trainers” workshop strengthened project management skills, teamwork, and strategies for engaging communities.
Over two days, participants explored project lifecycle management, monitoring and evaluation, sustainability planning, and communication strategies. Together, partners charted the project’s next steps—ensuring a strong foundation for future activities.
Local Actions Across Partner Countries
Morocco – ATIG organized a local training session in June 2025, attracting enthusiastic participation from young women, community leaders, and national media. The program focused on planning, management, and communication, sparking strong engagement at both local and national levels.
Egypt – SPAED delivered the ENHANCE toolkit to around 50 stakeholders, including young mothers and community leaders. Using Arabic materials and civil society networks, the team ensured inclusive participation and meaningful discussions on empowerment and equality.
Jordan – A workshop brought together representatives from charities, youth centers, local authorities, and even members of parliament. Participants explored business management and logistics while receiving branded materials to stay connected with the project’s updates online.
What’s Next?
The journey continues in October 2025 with the second international training camp in Tiznit, Morocco. Here, project managers, educators, and community leaders will dive deeper into community engagement methods and build stronger intercultural connections with local organizations.
